Job Description:

The Senior Product Manager will drive project milestones and set clear, measurable objectives for cross-functional teams as defined by the sponsors of each initiative. This role will combine Project Management with Product Management to lead the end-to-end planning, coordination, and oversight of team efforts, ensuring alignment with standardized frameworks (Lean Agile) and quality benchmarks. They will partner with stakeholders to align project goals and ensure successful execution of initiatives. They will evaluate, isolate, and resolve project challenges to maintain momentum and minimize risk. The Senior Product Manager will make strategic decisions regarding prioritization, deliverables, and timelines. They will orchestrate collaboration between the UPS Technology Group (UTG) and User groups to streamline system deployments and implementation processes as well as spearhead program and project execution, maintaining accountability for delivering high-impact results on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Program / Project Coordination
    • Support Agile Scrum and Release Train (ART) execution and program-level events (e.g., PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, and System Demos).
    • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure program alignment.
    • Assist RTE and Scrum teams with maintaining ADO, including capacity planning and ensuring sizing is assigned to each work item.
    • Track program progress, risks, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
  2. Facilitation and Communication
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
    • Organize and run program-level meetings, ensuring clarity of purpose and actionable outcomes.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on program health, risks, and key milestones.
  3. Metrics and Reporting
    • Ensure Initiative Epic and features are properly closed out so that the ADO Dashboard is accurate.
    • Use the ADO dashboard to track progress, performance, and unplanned work to ensure initiative delivery as committed to the business.
    • Leverage available reporting to assist with Project Coordination efforts.
    • Consolidate and present key metrics to stakeholders and leadership.
  4. Process Improvement
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives and lessons learned.
    • Identify and implement Initiative-level improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and team collaboration.
    • Support the resolution of Initiative-level impediments.
    • Contribute to the Lean Agile transformation from a project-oriented to a product-oriented organization.
  5. Risk and Dependency Management
    • Monitor risks, issues, and dependencies across teams and escalate as needed.
    • Collaborate with teams to mitigate risks and resolve conflicts effectively.
  6. Deployment Coordination
    • Coordinate deployments across Product Teams and ensure features are turned on when the business is ready and work as planned.
    • Review release processes and procedures to verify Operational Readiness and User Community controls are applied.
    • Conduct go/no go reviews with stakeholders.
    • Conduct post-release reviews to verify accuracy and Initiative goals.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in agile roles (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Program Coordinator)
  • Experience in SAFe, Scrum, or other agile frameworks
  • Proficiency in agile tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or Planview, Power BI)
  • Analytical mindset and ability to work with metrics and data
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a cross-functional environment
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or related field
