Senior Platform Engineer

Adecco is actively seeking a Senior Accounting Technician to join our client's team in Peterborough, ON. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of $57,000 - $75,000 per annum. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping skills, critical thinking abilities, and a passion for helping clients navigate their financial needs. This role involves working with cloud-based accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 50, and CaseWare.

Pay Rate : $57k-$75k / year based on experience.

Location : Peterborough, ON

Shift : Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities :

1. Providing bookkeeping assistance to clients, both internally and externally, in various formats including QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), Sage 50, and CaseWare.
2. Processing transactions in integrated cloud-based systems.
3. Applying critical thinking to assess transactions and determine appropriate accounting treatments.
4. Processing payroll for clients and managing associated remittances.
5. Preparing and filing sales tax returns.
6. Performing account reconciliations and completing ROEs.
7. Preparing client reports as needed.
8. Preparing T4s, T4As, and T5018s.
9. Producing accurate and timely financial reports.
10. Helping onboard new clients and assisting in the development of accounting workflows and process documentation.
11. Providing ongoing training and support for clients in all areas of bookkeeping.
12. Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
13. Mentoring and training team members to maximize their potential and contribute to personal and team growth.

Requirements :

1. Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
2. Graduation from a postsecondary institution - bookkeeping diploma is an asset.
3. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in public practice or managing multiple clients.
4. Strong bookkeeping skills with a keen eye for detail.
5. Critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities are essential.
6. Advanced experience with cloud-based accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
7. Intermediate Excel skills (advanced skills would be a plus).
8. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
