Job description

This position will assist in overseeing our operations within Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. The Senior Operations Manager will ensure that the client’s expectations for all lots are met. They will provide coaching and support to Operations Managers and assist them with high-level or at-risk accounts.

This position is responsible for hands-on operations, overseeing lot management and maintenance, monthly parkers programs, coordinating client accounts, negotiating contracts, and administering metering technologies and signage programs.

What Would You Be Doing?

Operations:

  • Responsible for developing client relationships, business retention, and increasing overall profitability.
  • Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreements between Indigo and our clients.
  • Overall responsibility for projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation.
  • Check and analyze the financial statements monthly to follow budgetary objectives, target opportunities and establish corrective measures to be implemented.
  • Manage the month end process including month end invoicing for all locations in portfolio.
  • Oversee and audit monthly deposits from revenue generating locations.
  • Financial and operational reports as required; assist with budget preparation, stock audit and control, purchase, and expense approvals.
  • Managing new lot set-up process and delegating tasks to operations managers for proper site hand-off at opening of new lot.
  • Lead, direct, and develop team of employees to accomplish goals/initiatives, while embodying and using Indigo’s culture and Values as a guideline.
  • Meet with clients on a regular basis to maintain a presence and ensure their needs are met. Assist Operations Managers in meetings with clients.
  • Ensure the proper management of policies, procedures, health and safety, equipment, and software specific to operations.
  • Act as a liaison between Senior Management and Operations to communicate changes and initiate new procedures.
  • Effectively communicate the organization’s vision to team members and mobilize employees to develop a culture of operational excellence.
  • Identify and develop high potential employees to support the organization’s continued growth.
  • Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation of assigned locations.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns and record keeping as requested.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Human Resources Management:

  • Develop and maintain an organizational structure and a human resources development plan ensuring management of all activities.
  • Maintain the development, deployment, and monitoring of best working practices in close collaboration with the human resources department.
  • Mentor Operations Managers and develop them into customer service and parking industry experts.
  • Provide training and management to Operations team.
  • Monitor personnel to ensure compliance with company policies and operational procedures, including but not limited to uniform and company policy standards.
  • Complete payroll related responsibilities including scheduling, managing requests for time off, approving timecards, etc.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Payroll department to ensure pay data is completed properly and to ensure proper wage and hour compliance.
  • Conduct staff disciplinary action, including verbal and written warnings, performance improvement plans, suspensions, and terminations with collaboration from the human resources department.
  • Manage and act, with the support of human resources, on major labor relations files including recovery plans, investigations, or reorganization.
  • Monitor Health and Safety by conducting required surveys and completed required documentation for reporting.
  • Conduct annual and probationary performance reviews of direct reports.
  • Ensure information is handled confidentially as required.
  • Offer continuous training and active support to your team, thus fostering their professional and personal development.

What Are We Looking For?

  • A minimum of 5 years of Management Experience.
  • 2 years of experience in an operational or sales role preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality or service, real estate, property management, or security industries; previous experience within the parking industry is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a Union environment is an asset.
  • Non-restricted driver’s license and clean driving record with own vehicle.
  • Flexible to be on call to respond to emergencies and cover shifts as required.
  • Able to travel to other work locations as needed.
  • Comfortable with interacting with all guests and visitors to our locations including vagrants and inebriated individuals.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability to act professionally and effectively within all levels of the organization and when interacting with clients and guests.
  • Results-oriented individual with a concern for accuracy and time management.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, team building, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Technical skills with an Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the MS office suite, Power BI, and familiarity with telecommunication devices.
  • Encourages open expression of ideas and opinions of team members.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.

Pay: $90,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
