Your Opportunity
As part of Stantec’s corporate Industrial Hygiene and Health, Safety, Security and Environment (IH/HSSE) Consulting Services Team, the successful candidate will be working with a robust team of over 50 professionals with various technical specialties who work closely with various operations groups across the company.
Stantec’s Western region has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH).
Your Key Responsibilities
- Advising on occupational hygiene, indoor air quality issues, noise concerns, and other potential exposure issues including assessment, sampling and monitoring when required.
- Managing industrial hygiene and other hazardous materials projects from the proposal stage to project execution and completion.
- Conducting occupational health and safety compliance audits and gap analyses for various clients.
- Providing occupational health and safety management system consulting services.
- Completing technical review of proposals and reports prior to submission for senior management review.
- Conducting field work including IH assessments and monitoring services.
- Providing training on various occupational health and safety topics.
- Contacting existing and new clients to ensure their needs are met and to develop new business opportunities.
- Keeping abreast of current industry knowledge, guidelines, and applicable legislation.
- Leading pursuits for industrial hygiene and occupational health and safety opportunities.
- Monitoring, mentoring, and leading the growth of team members.
- Providing field coordination and technical oversight of projects.
- Supporting indoor air quality assessment and hazardous building materials assessment and abatement projects.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- CIH or ROH certification.
- Experience must include project management or project coordination.
- Must be able to work as a member of a team but also independently.
- Strong writing skills are a must to prepare reports, proposals, and other project deliverables.
- Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving record.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in natural or environmental science from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with progressively increasing responsibilities, preferably in a consulting environment and specifically in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety and indoor environment.
