On behalf of Ignite Technical Resources, we are recruiting for a Senior Network Analyst in Surrey to join our client’s IT team.
Summary of the Role:
This senior-level role will serve as an escalation point within the network team and will be actively involved in overseeing, managing, and enhancing the IT network infrastructure. The Senior Network Analyst will also mentor junior team members, collaborate on complex network solutions, and support the City’s network operations across multiple data centers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee network monitoring and management to ensure reliable performance and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Design, plan, implement, and document network improvements and new IT initiatives.
- Provide consulting advice on technical solutions and improvements to business processes.
- Mentor junior team members, providing technical training and reviewing their work.
- Lead small project teams and contribute to ongoing network-related projects.
- Ensure seamless LAN/WAN, wireless, and VoIP operations by coordinating with vendors and network facilities.
- Use network management tools to proactively identify and address network faults and service interruptions.
- Collaborate with Technical Architects and Leads on strategic network solutions to support the City’s goals.
Core Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience as a Network Analyst with strong hands-on technical troubleshooting expertise.
- Degree in a network-related field from a recognized institution, or equivalent credentials (WES/ICES evaluated).
- Proficiency with high-availability data center switching.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud connectivity, IP routing (OSPF, BGP), site-to-site (S2S) and client VPNs (IPSec, SSL).
- Strong experience with service provider connectivity (Fiber, Ethernet, MPLS, VPLS).
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Network Access Control and security protocols.
- Firewall management, content filtering, intrusion protection, and address translation.
- Voice/multimedia systems, media signaling, and border controllers.
- Strong communication skills for interactions with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, F5, and related network and security tools.
Terms:
This is a permanent position offering a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and access to an employee assistance program. The role is hybrid with an initial requirement for 100% onsite presence during the first two months, followed by a hybrid model of three days in the office weekly. Additional benefits include 3 weeks of vacation, access to earned bank time for additional time off, and training and development programs.
