We are seeking a qualified Physician, on a contract basis, to lead a team of physicians who are part of a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals and clinicians. The teams provide assessment and rehabilitation services to individuals with a variety of medical conditions, which include a large component of musculoskeletal injuries and many other services.

Your roles and responsibilities:
- Deliver and oversee high-quality medical assessment services to clients in accordance with the standards of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
- Maintain an awareness of current trends and provide leadership in the field of Medicine; maintain related expertise through professional education, review of current research, and involvement with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and the Alberta Medical Association.
- Act as a consultant for Millard Health physicians regarding matters of professional practice.
- Act as a consultant on professional matters to Service Manager(s) and other Management as needed.
- Coordinate discipline-specific in-services and chair discipline-specific meetings as required.
- Ensure a proper medical peer review process is in place with an established purpose, process, and guidelines.
- Perform peer reviews and provide feedback at a minimum of a quarterly basis; and on an as-needed basis.
- Coordinate Resident/Intern placements and liaise with the University of Alberta Residency Clinical Education Coordinator.
- Participate, as necessary, in the evaluation of residents/students in compliance with University clinical site expectations.
- Initiate and foster partnerships and community outreach initiatives in the medical community to collaborate on service delivery excellence.
Qualifications:
- MD designation from recognized/accredited medical faculty.
- Registration with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta or able to obtain one.
- Five years’ experience as a medical doctor is required, with at least two years in appropriate areas of practice in diagnosis and management of musculoskeletal injuries. Background in general practice, occupational health, rehabilitation medicine, and/or orthopedic medicine preferred.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, and familiarity with computer applications.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills.
