The Senior Medical Animator is responsible for developing high quality 2D/3D animations and presenting accurate scientific and medical information in a clear and engaging manner. The animator will conduct thorough scientific research, develop storyboards, build 3D models, composite scenes and develop animations through their entire life cycle in a fast-paced environment.

You enjoy the creative iterative problem-solving process required to bring original concepts and high-profile IPs to life in an immersive experience. Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the creation of high-quality 2D/3D medical animations; working on all aspects of production (modeling, animation, lighting, shading, rendering, basic dynamics, compositing).
  • Conduct thorough scientific research for animation and interactive projects.
  • Working with the Art Director, lead the creation of storyboards, including literature and visual research, creative solutioning, drawing frames and compiling storyboard documents.
  • Create complex 2D motion graphic animations.
  • Perform advanced video and audio editing tasks.
  • Build 3D models and environments based on the storyboards.
  • Work with external vendors and voice talents to produce professional narrations.
  • Frequent contact with clients to discuss scientific and creative content.
  • Mentor junior artists, conduct demos, support onboarding.
  • Assist in the maintenance of and the establishment of new standard best practices.
  • Stay abreast of new programs or techniques that help drive efficiency.

About You


Education: Science degree required; graduate of a Biomedical Communications discipline preferred.

Experience:

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment (5+ years working experience preferred).
  • Excellent competency in all aspects of 3D animation production in at least one core 3D program (Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Maxon C4D), including modeling, shading, lighting, animating, dynamics and rendering (5+ years experience preferred).
  • Good competency in other software packages, including ZBrush, Houdini, Substance Designer, Unity, Character Creator etc.
  • Excellent competency in Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder etc.).
  • Excellent competency in all aspects of 2D animation production (5+ years experience preferred).
  • Experience with storyboard development preferred.
