Join Our Team as a Senior Mechanical Designer!

Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a dynamic Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Automation and Assembly division. If you’re passionate about crafting cutting-edge technology solutions and want to contribute to the development of customized equipment, including Battery Tray Assembly and Battery Assembly and Test Systems, Leak Test Equipment, Industrial Parts Washers, and Material Handling Automation, this opportunity is for you!

What you will get to do

  • Create and edit CAD models adhering to customer standards.
  • Estimate design hours for both original content and modifications from tool concept to design release.
  • Generate layout and detail drawings within project timelines.
  • Innovate and develop creative engineering solutions that surpass customer requirements.
  • Analyze customer specifications and engineering schematics to determine design procedures aligned with engineering and manufacturing needs.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and select appropriate materials to ensure design functionality.
  • Oversee structural and/or finite element analysis for assessing tool functionality.
  • Coordinate with other designers, both internal and outsourced, to develop comprehensive designs and CAD drawings, ensuring the complete design of assigned tools.

What we are looking for

  • Experience: 8+ years in designing automation systems. Familiarity with customized equipment, including battery tray assembly and testing for the electric vehicle (EV) industry, is an asset.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in the mechanical or industrial engineering field.
  • Skills:
    • Expert knowledge in CAD systems and software such as Inventor, AutoCAD, NX, CATIA, FIDES, and Solidworks.
    • Demonstrated capabilities in 3D designing and 2D detailing using one or more of the above-mentioned CAD systems.
    • Strong safety focus with excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work in a team and collaborate across departments.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
