Position Summary: As a Senior Manufacturing Supervisor - Glass, you will be at the heart of our glass manufacturing operations, overseeing the production processes in our state-of-the-art glass plant. You will report directly to the Director of Operations and be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety across all production lines. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving performance, optimizing workflows, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the glass production department. This is a full-time on-site, permanent position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the glass production department, ensuring production schedules are met, and quality standards are upheld. Manage the team to meet or exceed production targets.
  2. Lead the safety culture in the plant by enforcing health and safety policies, conducting safety audits, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  3. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a positive and high-performance work environment. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance skills and capabilities.
  4. Work closely with the Director of Operations to analyze production processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement cost-effective improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  5. Monitor product quality, identify defects or issues in the production process, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Develop and enforce quality control standards to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction.
  6. Collaborate with other departments, including external production teams, to ensure timely and efficient material flow and meet production deadlines.
  7. Generate and present production reports, provide performance feedback, and highlight key issues or opportunities for improvement to the Director of Operations.
  8. Address production challenges, resolve conflicts, and make decisions to optimize plant operation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Leadership Expertise: Proven ability to lead a large team, providing guidance and motivation while ensuring high standards of performance.
  2. Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior production role within the glass manufacturing industry.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of glass production processes, including glass cutting, assembly, glazing, and quality control.
  4. Mechanical Aptitude: Proficient in understanding production equipment and machinery maintenance requirements.
  5. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and presenting reports to management.
  7. Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and manufacturing software.
  8. Safety Focus: Deep knowledge of health and safety regulations and a track record of fostering a safety-first culture.
  9. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience:

  1. Postgraduate education or relevant trade certifications (e.g., Glass Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering).
  2. 5+ years of leadership experience in a glass production or manufacturing environment
