Senior Managing Consultant, Advisors & Consulting Services, Strategy & Transformation - Acquiring Subject Matter Expert Advisors & Consulting Services

Services within Mastercard are responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution. Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard’s rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Our teams work with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants. The Advisors & Consulting Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Strategy & Transformation consultants lead clients through impactful decision-making as they tackle strategic, tactical, operational, and transformational business challenges. They apply a broad set of problem-solving techniques to improve the client’s overall strategy, performance, and operations.

Roles and Responsibilities

A Senior Managing Consultant focused on leading Acquirer client engagements across a variety of relevant topics which may be consulting in nature or data and analytics driven.

Client Impact

  • Lead a project delivery team providing best in class insights and solutions to support the growth, operations, innovation, and strategy of Acquiring clients.
  • Act as a resource to others in identifying creative and efficient solutions and guide the team to business-focused solutions and recommendations that drive client value.
  • Direct the development of strategies and programs for regional and global Acquiring clients by leveraging data and technology solutions to unlock client value.
  • Own senior client relationships from mid-level to C-suite to drive commercial success.
  • Proactively engage on the client agenda, internal culture, and relationship risks.
  • Serve as a trusted client business advisor and generate enthusiasm for the Mastercard team and our recommendations.

Team Collaboration & Culture

  • Guide the team through complex problem solving to business-focused solutions and recommendations that drive client value.
  • Motivate the project delivery team to produce superior quality deliverables, and create a collaborative and inclusive environment for all levels.
  • Own relationship with internal Mastercard stakeholders including Product and Business Development to scope projects, create relevant solutions for clients, and build the firm's intellectual capital.
  • Mentor and coach junior teammates inside and outside of direct engagement teams.
  • Engender effective contribution to Mastercard’s Acceptance Consulting knowledge management and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Strong prior experience in Acquiring including but not limited to a senior level role at an Acquirer or as a Consultant supporting Acquirers with operations, growth, product/service development, reporting.
  • Problem Solving: Leads teams to identify the most critical aspects of a problem, and guides the team to business-focused solutions and recommendations that drive client value.
  • Analytic Excellence: Demonstrates a strong aptitude for structured problem solving and quantitative skills.
  • Project Management: Clear interest in project delivery with business clients, and intuition for the way that companies make decisions.
  • Client Management: Inspire client confidence through timely and reliable execution, and develop stakeholder management plans to align priorities and address support and resistance.
  • Communication and Presence: Leads composition of complete deliverables and other written communication.
  • Commercial Orientation: Ability to identify strong opportunities to leverage Services capabilities.
  • Leadership: Instill a sense of urgency, ownership, and empowerment and thoughtful risk taking into leaders at all levels.
  • Diverse Perspective: Brings a unique skillset or approach to the table in every client engagement or internal activity.
  • Undergraduate or master’s degree; CRCM, CFE Certification a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Acquirer strategies, growth drivers, operations, and technology solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English.
