Job Description:

This position reports to the AVP, Platforms & Technology: Audit & Regulatory Response Unit (TAR-U) and is responsible for providing guidance on responses to regulators, audits and 2nd Line (RASL) requests. The successful candidate is a results-driven individual, who thrives in a fast pace, complex environment. The key objective of this role is to craft clean, consistent, succinct responses to regulatory, audit and 2nd line (RASL) requests in standardized formats. As a technical writer, you will provide expertise on the written structure of the responses and will be responsible for presentation, layout, and content formatting. In this role, you will be accountable for managing a team and will have the following core responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities
  • Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any disciplinary actions, as required.
  • Oversees and leads a large and/or highly complex and diverse function for an area of significant risk, complexity, or scope.
  • The technical writer will craft clear, compliant, and succinct RASL responses that meet the stringent demands of the financial sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial, domain, RASL terminology.
  • Ability to take a complex scenario and develop an easy to understand message (Strong storytelling skills).
  • Strong experience in understanding various audience member requirements and crafting content to comply.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately for a variety of audiences (e.g., technical staff, business stakeholders, and regulators).
  • Responsible to update all applicable platforms during the lifecycle of the RASL response. Must be able to document and update systems in accordance with strict deadlines.
  • Understand regulations and audit to ensure documents comply with all applicable standards.
  • Proficiency with documentation tools and ability to identify gaps in knowledge, ensuring to ask the right questions.
  • Ability to align documentation with regulatory expectations.
  • Strong focus on accuracy, grammar, formatting, and consistency to produce error-free documentation.
  • Ability to review and edit documents to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Skills to work closely with cross-functional teams, including all applicable stakeholders at the bank.
  • Ability to understand feedback and incorporate inputs from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to bridge the gap between different stakeholders.
  • Ability to present to senior executives (VP, SVP, EVP, SEVP).
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a passion for challenging the status quo and taking action to achieve results.
  • Act as a brand ambassador for TAR-U.
  • Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater).

Job Requirements
  • Ability to thrive within an active environment with a high level of ambiguity with the need to be agile and adapt to last-minute changes/events.
  • Expertise in translating complex financial and technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
  • Able to deliver on multiple priorities and the requests of multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced and very dynamic environment.
  • Identify, assess, monitor, report on and help prioritize the remediation risk and control gaps.
  • Collaborate with partners by providing expertise to enable informed decisions in alignment with regulations.
  • Strong communications, relationship management & presentation skills. Must be comfortable in working with executive levels up to/including SVP's, senior executives.
  • Highly motivated individual with a proven track record of delivering results through ambiguity.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills coupled with an ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deliver high quality work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral; active listener and ability to distill and consolidate information into clear and concise information.
