Food Service Sales Representative
Greater Vancouver, BC (Home Based)

Our client, a National food distributor, is looking for a sharp, high-potential individual to join their team as a Food Service Sales Associate. The ideal candidate will realize the urgency & complexities of dealing within the Food Service landscape. This position will require individuals to exhibit exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities. A positive and can-do attitude is of utmost importance, reflecting their drive to overcome challenges and achieve outstanding results.

Assisting the Sales department in reaching sales goals, the Food Service Sales Associate requires local travel to engage in sales meetings with customers. The position interacts with nearby retail establishments, restaurants, and distributors associated with food service sales to sustain and expand customer accounts. The ideal candidate should aspire to build a career in the food industry and possess the ability to work autonomously to meet account development goals. This role will have the flexibility of working from home when not dealing direct with clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote and sell the company’s product to accounts;
  • Build business and sales plans (volume, profitability, product opportunities, promotional plan, etc.);
  • Understand the company's challenges and corresponding strategic orientations;
  • Monitor budgets allocated for each account;
  • Ensure that commitments made to the company by each account are respected in close collaboration with the appropriate internal departments (volume, price discounts, monetary commitment, promotional plan, etc.);
  • Responsible for the performance of categories and products for each customer according to results and strategies;
  • Responsible for coordinating and introducing new products both in-house and with accounts;
  • Conduct product and market research for the company;
  • Resolve customer issues and problems by exhibiting a sense of urgency and professionalism;
  • Establish, develop, and maintain long-term business relationships with current customers and prospective customers to generate new business for the company’s products.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree or technical certificate preferred but not necessary;
  • 1 - 2 years’ experience in sales or Foodservice Industry;
  • Above average communication, time and priority management skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish and maintain good business relations with customers;
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Customer relationship management – Ability to maintain and develop long-term customer relationships;
  • Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment;
  • Proficiency with PC (working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint, Salesforce);
  • Valid Driver's license.
