As a Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives (located within the team in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer) you will play a critical role in shaping and driving efficiencies across BMO’s Enterprise Risk function. This is not a traditional BAU role, you won’t just manage processes; you’ll help reimagine them. You’ll work across various risk domains, identifying opportunities to enhance technology, processes, and people strategies to drive effectiveness and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

1. Lead and execute strategic initiatives that optimize risk management processes across BMO.
2. Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including executives and business leaders, to develop and implement impactful recommendations.
3. Conduct deep-dive analysis, develop business cases, and craft compelling presentations using storytelling techniques to communicate complex ideas effectively.
4. Engage in both strategy formulation and hands-on execution, ensuring initiatives drive real business impact.
5. Mentor and collaborate with team members, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Who You Are:

1. 6-7 years of experience in strategy, transformation, or consulting, preferably within risk management or financial services.
2. Comfortable with ambiguity and adept at breaking down complex problems into actionable solutions.
3. Exceptional communicator with strong storytelling and presentation skills, including PowerPoint; able to translate technical or complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
4. A proactive self-starter who brings thought leadership to the table rather than waiting for direction.
5. Experience in management consulting or an MBA with prior work experience is highly valued.
6. A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude—we’re looking for doers, not just advisors.

This role is in Toronto. Work arrangement is hybrid with at least 2 days a week in-office collaboration required.

Qualifications:

1. Typically 5+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
3. Comfortable with ambiguity.

Salary: $92,400.00 - $171,600.00

Pay Type: Salaried
