Our client located in Guelph is a well-established mid-size Public Accounting firm looking to hire a Senior Manager- Professional Standards. This accounting firm has a great reputation in the industry with many long-term employees. In this role, you would get a wide variety of experience working with clients in many different industries. If you are currently working for a small or mid-size Public Accounting firm and would like to move away from traditional public accounting responsibilities while having a passion for creating new processes, keeping them up to date, and working closely with the partners and CPA Ontario to maintain audit and compliance standards, this could be the right opportunity for you.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as the Head of the Learning & Development department
  • Liaison with the partners on current compliance and audit standards
  • Create new processes and templates based on new CPA standards
  • Work closely with CPA Ontario for practice inspections.
  • Oversee and assist with engagement performance policy and procedure development.
  • Consult with engagement teams on complex accounting and financial reporting matters.

Requirements:
  • You MUST have your CPA designation.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a public accounting setting with a focus on compliance and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience with implementing new processes and testing internal controls will be an asset.
  • Ability to take initiative for own learning and development.
  • Passion to lead and train a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
