Pay Details: $108,800 - $163,200 CAD. This role is eligible for a discretionary variable compensation award that considers business and individual performance.
Job Description:
CUSTOMER
- Plan and lead the team in the execution and integrated implementation of process improvement and/or transformation initiatives, across a broad range of functional areas and/or business segments.
- Leverage advanced analytics and process modeling to solve complex process problems, as well as design breakthrough process improvements.
- Lead the team and collaborate with a diverse range of business leaders and stakeholders on why/how to reduce variation, make better decisions, and ultimately improve results.
- Build effective relationships with key business partners within and across business units, and ensure the delivery of financial and customer benefits to business units.
- Ensure ongoing prioritization of project initiatives, direct linkage to respective business unit key performance indicators, and achievement of process improvement savings.
- Oversee the planning and execution of recommended solutions, and ensure they improve quality and eliminate waste. Lead the team to execute on recommendations.
- Ensure effective communication between the team and key stakeholders and/or partners by adapting style and technique to a diverse audience, throughout the planning, execution and delivery of process improvement and/or transformation initiatives.
- Act as a consultant/resource to business partners and stakeholders at all levels by promoting and developing awareness of Process Improvement & Optimization/Workflow & Controls Automation/Transformation with appropriate controls, tracking, reporting best practices.
SHAREHOLDER
- Ensure team adheres to enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to overall process improvement/transformation activities.
- Support team in staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts to the Bank.
- Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plans, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leverage TD’s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale.
- Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies.
- Assess/identify key issues and escalate to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders and business management where required.
- Identify, mitigate and report on risk issues per enterprise policy/guidance and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable internal and external requirements (e.g. financial controls, segregation of duties).
- Proactively identify key business opportunities, research and recommend enhancements, optimization, automation and modification opportunities, developing strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to execute and implement.
- Manage overall budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead relationships with business lines/corporate and/or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and/or regulatory requirements.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional/enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert helping to identify risk/provide guidance for complex situations.
- Protect the interests of the organization – identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high risk transactions/activities as necessary.
- Manage oversight process, risk-based identification and monitoring of related risks and regulatory compliance across the supported functions, while ensuring key controls and processes are effectively managed.
- Oversee or lead the facilitation and/or implementation of action/remediation plans to address performance/risk/governance issues.
- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts.
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite.

BREADTH & DEPTH
- Provide people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required.
- Oversee and lead a highly complex and diverse portfolio for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities to achieve career goals, support project/initiative success and achieve business results.
- Leadership and approval of projects and oversight of all projects within portfolio, to ensure on strategy execution, appropriate governance and stakeholder approvals are obtained.
- Identifies and leads problem resolution for the program at all levels.
- Provides coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners, business, executives within area of expertise.
- Manages and oversees the overall discipline and strategy for the respective areas while aligning to the enterprise best practices.
- Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external/internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management/enterprise areas.
- Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.).
- Expert knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function/business.
- Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater).
- Generally reports to an executive role.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION
- Bachelor degree with a related major (business, operations, engineering/technical, mathematics) or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Black Belt and Master Black Belt.
- Experience in Fraud and Financial Crimes operations/investigations.
