Qualifications:

  • Typically 5-7 years of relevant AML experience and post-secondary degree in related field of Risk/Compliance study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • AML Risk management skills - In-depth.
  • Working knowledge in AML & Sanctions Regulatory requirements - in depth.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive banking experience.
  • Knowledge in monitoring techniques, quantitative techniques and audit methodology.
  • Experience in roles requiring product and process management, implementation of governance and controls and risk management oversight.
  • Highly developed relationship management, negotiation and leadership skills.
  • Excellent change management skills.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth.
  • Collaboration & team skills - In-depth.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth.
  • Influence skills - In-depth.
  • Data driven decision making - In-depth.
  • AML related certification (ACAMS) preferred.
  • People Manager - preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the business/group leader in the effective implementation, maintenance and administration of first line of defense (1st LOD) programs (e.g., operational risk, AML, compliance, regulatory, etc.).
  • Contributes to a strong risk management culture through collaboration with other first line employees, and second & third line functions.
  • Fosters a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and strategy.
  • Ensures alignment between values and behaviour that fosters diversity and inclusion.
  • Builds interdependent teams that collaborate across functional and operating groups.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • Prepares and briefs senior leaders on regulatory matters.
  • Monitors and advises on management of risk requirements within the defined risk appetite.
  • Supports the management of 1st LOD program for the business/group.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the business/group strategies and objectives.
  • Identifies, investigates, analyzes, documents & mitigates program risks.
  • Supports the business/group through internal/external audits or regulatory examinations.
  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

Salary: $84,000.00 - $156,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried
