What you’ll be doing

The Compliance and EAML Examinations Program (CEEP) is a global examinations team that carries out Regulatory Compliance and ML/TF Examinations of LOBs and functional groups.

The role operates under the Centralized Support Services (CSS) Team. CSS is responsible for supporting the EAML and Compliance Examination teams through the development, implementation and maintenance of the examination program, tools/templates, annual examination planning, training and management reporting. In addition, the CSS team manages and executes the Quality Assurance program to assess the effectiveness and quality of examinations.

As a Senior Manager, Methodology and Examination Support, you will play a high impact role in developing, enhancing and implementing examination methodology and practices for the examinations teams. This includes socializing methodology updates, driving methodology improvement initiatives, building a forward looking examination methodology, ensuring that the examinations teams have the required tools to execute high quality exams and conducting annual benchmark analysis to ensure that CEEP’s examination methodology is aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations. It will be critical for this role to foster strong working relationships to influence the broader CEEP examination teams and other stakeholders as required.

This role involves managing cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders, including Internal Audit and Regional Compliance teams, to ensure alignment on best practices. It also fosters strong partnerships with the Line of Business to drive synergies, ultimately reducing the impact of examinations on daily operations.

You will also serve as a subject matter expert and consultant to CEEP examination teams on all methodology related queries.

At CIBC, we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

Work closely with various CEEP teams towards a common goal and negotiate methodology implementation deliverables and milestones, as required.
  4. Change Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams to determine necessary changes in change management standards, processes, documentation and implementation related requirements. Partner with the training delivery team to support the delivery of methodology changes as required.
  5. Consultation: Provide consultation advice to staff pertaining to the interpretation and application of our examination methodology and the application of professional standards (including consulting with and advising examination teams on unique or complex scenarios).
