Reporting to the Director, Finance, Capital Formation, the senior manager has responsibility for finance and regulatory deliverables for our TSX Trust business. The senior manager position requires previous managerial level experience supporting a regulated Canadian financial institution including reporting and analysis, planning and forecasting, as well as, accounting and governance.

Key Accountabilities:

Finance Business Partnering

  • Deliver management reporting and analysis including commentary on financial performance against annual financial budget and prior year results.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews with budget owners and collaborate with them to deliver on their annual financial budgets.
  • Partner with TSX Trust business teams to review and expand KPIs used for management reporting, decision making and external disclosure.
  • Oversee the quarterly forecast process including the execution of all deliverables. Identify and discuss material risks and opportunities to ensure TSX Trust achieves its annual financial budget.
  • Lead the annual budget process and develop a multi-year financial plan in support of the TSX Trust strategy.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the financial assessment process for TSX Trust’s initiatives. The assessment process will include but is not limited to business case development and financial modeling.
  • Oversee the production of quarterly reporting and analysis for the TSX Trust Risk and Audit Committee and Board of Director. Support the CFO, TSX Trust in preparation for quarterly Board meetings.
  • Ensure TSX Trust meets all financial requirements as set out by its regulators including OSFI and AMF.
  • Collaborate with the TSX Trust Risk and Compliance team on all reporting and monitoring requirements.
  • Maintain operational excellence through finance's stewardship role and utilize technology solutions to allow for the team to effectively support TSX Trust’s growth. This includes leveraging new tools for operational efficiency and the enhancement of data analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate with TSX Trust leadership team and TMX corporate development teams to identify, acquire and integrate new businesses to accelerate its growth strategy.

Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Ensure all financial information used for TSX Trust internal reporting, annual audited financial statements and external reporting are accurate and complete including performing all appropriate month-end and quarter-end reviews.
  • Collaborate with TMX finance functions including controllership team to ensure accounting treatment of TSX Trust transactions are in compliance with IFRS standards and TMX Group policies.
  • Review annual TSX Trust audited financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS Standards and support CFO, TSX Trust in presentation of the audited financial statements to TSX Trust Board for approval.
  • Collaborate with external auditors on the execution of their annual audit plans including the audit of TSX Trust annual financial statements.
  • Responsible for the quarterly sign off of the TMX CEO/CFO certification process.
  • Provide required support to TMX Group central finance and investor relations teams including reporting and analysis for TMX Group senior management team, TMX Group’s MD&A and press releases and CEO/CFO communications with shareholders and analysts.

Team Leadership

  • Manage, coach and develop a team of 2 finance professionals.
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent with the capabilities to provide top tier finance business partnering.

Must Have Skills:

  • 5 to 10 years finance experience in a regulated Canadian financial institution with preference for a Trust company.
  • A university graduate with a CPA designation is required.
  • Highly motivated team player and self starter.
  • Results oriented with ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with effective and positive management style.
  • Highly detail oriented and analytical (ability to deal with complex issues, break down into component pieces in order to analyze appropriately).
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Collaborate effectively across organization and promote an effective team-based environment.
  • Experience with MS Excel, Workday, Adaptive and Google suite.
