Purpose

The Product Owner, Digital Payments Platform leads the execution and enablement of the digital payments API strategy for core payments and transaction banking APIs for our clients and partners.

In this role you'll determine, evaluate, and prioritize the API roadmap by evaluating client feedback, developing internal insights, and examining external trends. You'll set the direction of account information reporting and payments APIs and operate in a cross-functional, agile team environment to drive execution.

This role collaborates closely with stakeholders across the enterprise to align value, priority, and impact to the Enterprise Payments strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Execute the payments & information reporting API strategies based on business objectives, analytical insights, customer feedback, emerging trends, and market developments.
  2. Discover new opportunities to address customer needs through client sessions, journey mapping, and industry research.
  3. Lead the API product lifecycle from concept evaluation, user story definition, and execution.
  4. Collaborate with internal and external partners to create and validate business use cases leveraging product management and industry expertise.
  5. Partner with sales teams to provide consultative solution support to address client needs.
  6. Develop and prioritize the API Product Backlog including features, user stories, and acceptance criteria for API products.
  7. Prioritize the API product backlog with a focus on client value creation and time-to-market needs.
  8. Establish and monitor key performance metrics to inform product decisions, identify trends, and improvement opportunities.
  9. Advise internal partners to drive understanding of APIs and use cases, contributing to sharing of leading practices as well as identifying APIs re-usability opportunities.
  10. Participate in Agile cadences to support cross-functional teams in delivering APIs including Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Daily Stand-Ups, and Retrospectives.

What You'll Bring:

  1. Strong knowledge of modern payment services and their application to business client needs including Real-time Payments, ISO 20022 payment messaging, and payment networks.
  2. Experience in Product Development Lifecycle including operating hands-on in an Agile and entrepreneurial environment with cross-functional teams.
  3. Excellent communication and collaboration skills across distilling complex concepts into simplified terms, presenting to large audiences, and demonstrating thought leadership.
  4. Strong understanding of the evolving payments ecosystem including FinTechs and PayTechs.
  5. Ability to work independently and effectively to meet deadlines, balance work priorities, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  6. Superior conflict management skills and expertise to persuade and negotiate effectively.
  7. 7+ years in the Financial Services Industry with demonstrated product management and digital product development experience.
  8. 5+ years of relevant experience cash management and payments product management.
  9. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  10. Fluent in discussions on API Product Management, Developer Experience, Emerging Technologies, and Ecosystems.
  11. Proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale products across multiple teams in highly collaborative environments.
  12. Reputation for being a thought and business leader with ability to motivate work across multiple team(s).
