PurposeAs Senior Manager, Employee Experience, you'll be a critical member of the Employee Experience Team. Our team's purpose is to support our leaders in creating an exceptional employee experience where everyone can be their best, deliver a best-in-class guest experience and deliver great business results.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Alignment and Support- Ensure our Employee Experience Team activities and HR systems proactively inform CMHs company-wide business planning and decisions regarding all things people.
- Help ensure our EE team efforts align with and drive our business priorities.
Employee Relations- Support Managers in being amazing coaches and leaders for their teams, communicating standards, coaching performance as well as formally and informally recognizing the great results.
- Draw on your practical experience, and formal learning to be a balanced sounding board and source of capable, trusted advice through difficult employee issues.
- Build relationships with employees at all levels across functions and CMH locations, with external talent partners, the Mike Wiegele team and our teammates in Denver to strengthen ties, gain perspective, leverage business synergies and promote a "One Team" culture.
Program Building, Ownership, Support and Execution- Leverage relationships and understanding of our operations to identify opportunities to build programs, tools and training to build capability in our teams.
- Support execution of Human Resources initiatives that are home grown at CMH as well as those that are part of the larger Alterra Human Resources strategy.
- Partner with our Recruiter to support employee onboarding and make recommendations for improvement in how we welcome new team members and ramp them up quickly.
Occupational Health and Safety- Partner closely with the head of Occupational Health and Safety to ensure consistent understanding and execution of Health and Safety plans, programs and policies across CMH.
- Support the head of Occupational Health and Safety in identifying opportunities for recognition and improvement in operations.
- Support the efforts of both BC and Alberta Health and Safety Teams, attend meetings as a guest and coach teams in alignment with the direction set by the head of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Role model behaviours consistent with a Safety-first culture and organization.
Values Champion- Model the CMH Principles and Alterra Values and ensure they are integrated into all our programs and decisions.
- Support recognition for team members who consistently live our values.
People Operations Management:- Oversee and enhance core people operations processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and communications within Employee Experience and among our CMH team.
- Recommend new tools and automation to streamline workflows and improve employee experience.
Compliance and Immigration:- Manage and monitor compliance efforts, ensuring our team is aware of and adheres to labor laws and company policies.
- Support our Recruiter with immigration efforts particularly around visa applications for key talent.
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and provide strategic recommendations for compliance initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications- Proven, solid experience at an HR manager-level in a multi-location, operations and employee-intensive company where human resources is a key business function and driver of a branded guest/customer experience.
- HR generalist experience complimented by deeper experience in one or more of the key HR disciplines, particularly Talent Acquisition or Learning and Development.
- Experience in an operations company of at least 500 team members or experience that would enable you to be great in a company the size of CMH.
- Success collaborating with shared services or a head office located elsewhere and/or in the US.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualities- You're curious. You naturally put in the time and effort to hone your HR craft, understand how things work and to hear peoples' stories. You're good at what you do because you can connect all three.
- You can operate in the ambiguity and the give and take of a seasonal, 7-day operations model to deliver great results for the business and achieve a personal and professional life blend.
- You're great at influencing through strong relationships, expertise and data and can manage a complex group of stakeholders.
- You're a leader even if you don't have direct reports; you'll head into uncharted territory in a way people will follow.
- You look for the best solution even if it's not always the easiest.
Working Conditions- Physical ability to perform the duties of the role and ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis.

CompensationA competitive compensation package will be provided including an attractive base salary starting between $90,000 - $120,000 which is based upon qualifications, experience, and skill set. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
