Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing will lead a design, development, and content team dedicated to creating exceptional user experiences for Direct Energy Canada. This includes enhancing customer self-service and account maintenance offerings as needed. Reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing and Creative, this role demands strong business acumen, analytical expertise, and effective collaboration across internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with in-depth knowledge of digital marketing trends, tools, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main product owner of the directenergy.ca website.
- Lead a team responsible for web management, content, email, digital communications, driven to deliver customer-centric experiences.
- Develop the governance and “get work done” plan for all website properties, ensuring clear collaboration across teams.
- Work with the Canada Leadership Team to achieve key performance indicators such as web enrollments and conversion rates.
- Collaborate closely with the Product Management Team, Digital Operations, and Digital IT teams to manage digital assets and optimize customer experiences.
- Lead the building of the roadmap for the website by connecting with senior leaders across the business.
- Oversee SEO, email marketing, and contribute to customer marketing initiatives.
- Support new product launches and conversion optimization efforts with Marketing, Product Management, and Sales teams.
- Help teams prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to deliver data-driven, customer-centric solutions.
- Develop business cases to support digital asset initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects, keeping them on track from a schedule, scope, and budget perspective.
- Develop platform roadmaps for digital assets.
- Champion user needs, focusing on human-centered design philosophy.
- Ensure adherence to Direct Energy’s brand values across all sites and channels.
- Collaborate with other web leaders across NRG to find new opportunities for improvements.
- Mentor team members to enable bold decisions that transform customer interactions.
- Conduct user research and improve the user experience based on feedback.
- Work closely with Digital Operations, IT, and vendors to ensure web platforms function as required.
- Stay current on best practices, trends, and patterns in modern UX design.
- Maintain and monitor overall page performance.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid working environment, office and remote.
- Some overtime is needed as special projects arise.
- Some travel <10%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in technology or business.
- 6-10+ years web design and development experience across platforms.
- 3-5+ years managing web design and development teams.
- Experience collaborating with development teams to design digital solutions.
- Previous leadership role in enterprise level CMS development.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven leadership, collaboration, and communication abilities.
- Expertise in leveraging data for analysis and insights.
- Understanding of user flow, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
- Experience with analytics and data-driven approaches.
- Ability to define and implement KPIs and translate requirements into solutions.
- Knowledge of A/B testing and SEO best practices.
- Familiarity with user-centric design standards.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
- Experience with digital tools like Adobe Experience Manager and Google Tag Manager.
- Strong communication skills in digital media and print.
- Exposure to AI, small commercial markets, and B2B environments is advantageous.
- Effective at managing virtual meetings and promoting work-life balance.
