Make an impact with our Consulting – Economics team as a Senior Manager, Agricultural Economics. This diverse team of professionals understands the business needs of clients and provides leading-edge analysis and research services to support evidence-based decision making. As a trusted advisor, you’ll evaluate programs and business alternatives, determine economic and financial contributions, develop public policy and empower clients to make informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the proposal, planning and delivery of Agriculture research projects such as economic impact studies, cost-benefit studies and market studies for clients in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors.
- Develop innovative methodologies and models for undertaking economic analysis following best practices.
- Manage engagement planning and scheduling as well as project financials (budgets, WIP, timely billing, collection, variance recognition).
- Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to clients; ensure client needs are met and relationships grow and develop.
- Review, design and develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations and other correspondence.
- Maintain high quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate, identify and address issues or key risks relevant to the client’s business.
- Network in the local business community, consider business development opportunities and lead the preparation and delivery of competitive proposals to meet client needs.
- Mentor, motivate and coach team members towards professional and personal development by setting clear expectations, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
Skills and Experience
- Master’s or PhD in Agricultural Economics.
- CMC, PMP or other related certifications are considered an asset.
- 10+ years of consulting experience, ideally in a client-service environment.
- Extensive knowledge of quantitative economic methods and data analysis.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Demonstration of advanced project management skills and tactics
- Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills
- Strong strategic planning and conceptual thinking skills
- Established network within the Canadian agricultural community
