COMPLIANCE SENIOR MANAGER

Richemont Canada Inc.

Role Overview:

Oversee compliance across the Canadian organization, including retail, warehouse, customer service, and corporate settings.

Support, organize, and assist in the following areas of Canadian (Provincial and Federal) Regulation and Corporate Compliance:

  • Internal Control Systems (ICS) - Development & Oversight of Processes Related to Ensuring Compliance with Laws & Regulations
  • Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions
  • Security
  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Product & Trade Compliance (Supply Chain Management)

Responsibilities:

1/ INTERNAL CONTROL SYSTEMS (ICS)

Development & Oversight of Processes Related to Ensuring Compliance with applicable Laws & Regulations
  • Emphasis on FINTRAC, Customs, and H&S regulations
  • Implement compliance activities and related controls
  • Conduct relevant employee trainings
  • Liaise with the respective regional counterparts and support teams (Compliance, Legal, Internal Controls, H&S, Security, Product & Trade)
  • Create and maintain Risk Assessments (pertaining to all previously mentioned compliance areas); providing options/solutions for required measures for risk mitigation
  • Verify program compliance and document completeness via compliance activity checklists and sign-offs
  • Primary point of contact for all internal and external audits and assessments, presenting findings to senior management and developing remediation/action plans

2/ ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING AND SANCTIONS
  • Comply with government regulation and training surrounding Anti-Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing and Sanctions, Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Conduct Risk Assessment and apply the risk-based approach to compliance processes
  • Support the implementation and assignment (retail staff) of the Learning Management System (LMS) training program for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and FINTRAC reporting
  • Daily AML reporting and analysis of all cash transactions made within Richemont Boutiques
  • FINTRAC (FWR) reporting of Large Cash Transaction (LCTR) and Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) to the federal government

3/ SECURITY
  • Ensure facility security procedures adhere to internal audit controls
  • Monitor adequacy of physical facility access via periodic review of access reports
  • Support the implementation of security enhancements at the site

4/ HEALTH & SAFETY
  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Responsible for bringing all Canadian staff up to speed on all required federal and provincial health and safety training (i.e. WHMIS, First Aid, Manager/Employee Joint H&S Committee training, Inspection training, etc.)
  • Co-chair and lead worker representative for Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC)
  • Communication of new employment, H&S legislation to all staff
  • Work closely with H&S consultant/Workplace Safety Prevention Services (WSPS) to achieve federal and provincial compliance standards
  • Contractor Safety: Implementing Contractor Safety policy compliant with employment legislation; maintain WSIB e-clearance certificates
  • Coordinate annual fire drill; update building layout with emergency exits
  • Schedule the regular servicing of emergency lighting (exit signs) and fire extinguishers in all company facilities
  • Maintain Health & Safety/Employee bulletin board

5/ PRODUCT & TRADE COMPLIANCE (SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT)
  • Support Customs activities within the framework of the company's Internal Control and Compliance policies
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian government agencies, Customs, and foreign-trade zone requirements (CITES, CBSA, etc.)
  • Monitor federal, provincial and municipal government publications for new/revised regulations that could impact business operations (product/distribution)
  • Work with Regional PTC Director to implement company directives at the regional level
  • Maintain SAP Master Data - ensure HS code accuracy for all products
  • Support Operations Management in Duty Drawback Program, and all other relevant cross-functional initiatives

6/ AD HOC TASK & PROJECTS
  • Oversee a diverse team across all key compliance fields, overseeing the implementation of policies and regulations for Richemont
  • Manage the country's Privacy & Data Protection compliance program, serving as the country's Data Protection Officer
  • Support ESG regulatory requirements, on topics such as the Annual Report on Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour

Technical skills & Qualifications:
  • Team Management and Project Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team-oriented; at ease in front of groups
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP and MSR system (an asset)
  • Understanding of the Canadian customs process
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee member (JHSC), an asset
  • An AML or Financial Crimes certification (such as CAMS, CFCS, etc.), an asset
  • Proficient in the English language; proficiency in French (an asset)
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills

University or college degree/diploma

5+ years of expertise in at least 2 of the leading key responsibilities outlined.
