Job Summary

Manages the acquisition of goods, services and contracts for a large department or function. Typically manages 2 or more specialized departments comprised of supervisors, managers, professionals, and/or large numbers of operational support employees.

What will you do?

  • Act as an advocate and strategic advisor for the most important Supplier solutions and requirements within each Technology & Operations (T&O) Division’s Leadership Team or Strategic Initiatives.
  • Working with the leadership team to create a “cross” T&O view of the requirements needed to be fulfilled by suppliers. Organize this demand and recommend how most effectively to organize it to maximize RBC ROI and supplier value.
  • Utilize and assist in maintenance of multiple technology categorization lenses, to inform comparative analysis (benchmarking) of all the available Suppliers on boarded in RBC or in the market place. This will require close collaboration with the Supplier Management Relationship services team who are responsible for supplier performance management in T&O.
  • Develop trusted relationships with leaders across T&O to help improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of supplier solutions.
  • Assist in creation of strategic views of T&O requirements, RBC incumbent suppliers and emerging suppliers in the marketplace.
  • Build technology based strategies to optimize our third party relationships including: enablement of build versus buy analysis; applied understanding of various commercial options (RBC delivered to Third party delivered) to guide decision making; business case input; risk based analysis of third party relationships.
  • Assist in building T&O business based (Data, Cloud, IT Application Services, AI etc.) business sourcing strategies in collaboration with the various T&O and non-T&O stakeholders.
  • In partnership with Procurement, Finance and the Division delivery leaders, participate and enable selected supplier contract negotiations.
  • Participate in development of strategies to maximize value from RBC’s technology supplier portfolio.

What do you need to succeed? Must have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in strategic relationship management, delivery performance analysis, portfolio management, complex negotiations and technology deal making.
  • Experience working successfully with multiple stakeholders with competing objectives.
  • Strong information technology, general management and financial acumen.
  • Proven skills with demonstrated ability to build sustainable, transparent relationships / partnerships.
  • University degree, or equivalent in technology or a combination of education and experience in understanding and negotiation technology commercial deals.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in client service environment, operations service support and service delivery would be an asset.
  • Experience in Supplier management strategies.
  • Experience with organizational change.
