Job Title: Senior Manager - Accounting

Location: Richmond, BC

Starting Date: ASAP

Work hours: 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (1-hour lunch break), Monday to Friday
*Alternatively, you can take a 30-minute lunch break and finish at 5:00 PM

*This position offers a hybrid work model; however, you will be required to work in the office daily for at least 2 weeks (or longer) until you are able to work independently. Once the hybrid schedule begins, you will need to work in the office at least 2 days per week (Wednesday plus one additional day).

Compensation: $80K-100K (DOE) per year + a bonus based on company performance

Benefits: Group Insurance (extended health, dental, prescription drugs, RRSP, LTD option)

Annual Vacation: Starting 15 days per year (Prorated based on starting date)

Main Job Duties:

  1. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5-7 accounting staff.
  2. Perform and oversee the consolidation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  3. Conduct and supervise complex accounting analyses to support decision-making.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement efficient accounting processes.
  5. Resolve accounting challenges independently with a focus on delivering timely and effective solutions.
  6. Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  7. Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, reports, and reconciliations.
  8. Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and implement solutions.
  9. Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  3. CPA designation preferred.
  4. Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  5. Expertise in consolidation processes and complex accounting principles.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  7. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  8. Proficient in accounting software and tools, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  9. Motivated, self-driven, and eager to take on challenges.
  10. Japanese/Chinese language skills an asset.
