Senior Maintenance Engineer - PE

The purpose of the Senior Maintenance Engineer role is to provide leadership to the maintenance departments responsible for equipment, property, buildings, and facilities for a manufacturing plant or multiple manufacturing plants. Will be primarily responsible for managing, implementing, and supporting best safety and environmental practices; identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving process or maintenance issues; maintaining, repairing, and updating all production equipment systems and facilities; managing and controlling maintenance costs; and overseeing and maintaining equipment performance. This role will work for MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC. (MNAe).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

(To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Manage a preventive/predictive maintenance system.
  • Maintain an effective preventative maintenance schedule and control mechanical inventories. Encourage good work habits and promote safety.
  • Support by working cross-functionally with internal support departments and occasionally with external manufacturing to drive project completion.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the manufacturing process and details of the associated hands-on operating requirements.
  • In conjunction with various internal and external stakeholders, investigate and coordinate the resolution of deviations through the comprehensive use of Root Cause Analysis tools.
  • If required, collaborate with technical and operational stakeholders and write and/or revise SOPs, batch records, technical reports, and other operational-related documents.
  • Generate training material and conduct training for manufacturing staff.
  • Generate and manage metrics.
  • Coordinate equipment downtime, MTTR, MTBF, 3R5S, improvement, and attendance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process or maintenance problems and develop action plans to resolve issues and improve reliability and uptime.
  • Identify new technology for new/current assets and assist with identifying user requirements, procurement, and implementation as needed.
  • Identify and implement maintenance, safety, and environmental practices.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

(The requirements below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required for this position.)

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience and/or education.
  • Minimum five years of technical experience in engineering.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Good knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Good understanding of Robotics, PLC, and VFDs.
  • Some knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Some knowledge of Auto CAD and SAP as part of Maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, passionate about problem-solving with the ability to assemble a team of internal experts to provide solutions to customer challenges that will deliver value to the customer.
  • Can deftly manage feedback from multiple stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle while meeting deadlines.
  • Is a true team player, able to take critiques positively and constructively, and always open to suggestions.
  • Willing to go beyond a job description and jump in where needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
