Position: Senior Maintenance Engineer | FS1R

Primary Location: Fort Saskatchewan (AB, CAN), Alberta, Canada

About You and this Role

Dow's Path2Zero Program is seeking an FS1R Mechanical Commissioning and Start-up (C&SU) Lead to join our team in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. This role will work closely with the Maintenance and Reliability representatives and be a key member of FS1 and FS2 Commissioning and Start-up teams.

In this role, you will initially be the lead for the mechanical team responsible for commissioning and start-up of the mechanical equipment included in the retrofit scope for the existing FS1 ethylene production facility. You will provide oversight of the mechanical C&SU team and be accountable for deliverables related to effective start-up of the new facility as well as setting up the new equipment for long term maintenance. This role will also be a member of the FS2 Mechanical C&SU team aligned to the new ethylene production facility.

After the project reaches Return to Operations (RTO), this role will become one of the facility Maintenance Engineers.

The responsibilities of this role during Project Construction, Commissioning and Start-up include:

  • Lead the development of Mechanical Equipment Commissioning and Start-up Procedures.
  • Lead the development of Commissioning and Start-up Binder.
  • Review of Mechanical Equipment Protection Plans and participate in field audits throughout construction phase.
  • Lead the development of Mechanical Equipment PPM, Lubrication, Vibration, Lifting device inspection, HVAC equipment PPM Program.
  • Collaborate with Reliability Engineer for Equipment Reliability Strategy implementation.
  • Review Mechanical spare parts and setup stocking quantity aligning with ERS and site requirement.
  • Support in setting up C&SU database in Provenience for Mechanical Equipment.
  • Work with Maintenance rep. to setup plan for Mechanical C&SU resources.
  • Work with Maintenance rep. to setup plan Mechanical tools.
  • Lead the development of Mechanical Equipment repair procedure.
  • Review process automation setting for Mechanical equipment.
  • Lead Mechanical Commissioning and Start-up activities.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Registration or the ability to be registered with APEGA (EIT/P. Eng).
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. maintenance and reliability engineering, etc.)
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% (domestically & internationally).
  • Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment (including harnesses with a total maximum weight capacity of 300lbs). Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
  • Prior C&SU experience is preferred.
  • A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
