Senior Mainframe Z/OS Programmer

Our insurance client is seeking a Senior Mainframe Z/OS Programmer to provide services in a customer, multi-vendor, multi-protocol complex network/systems environments.

Duration: 1 year with multiple extensions

Work Mode: 100% remote

Responsibilities:

1. Primary zOS Support for IBM commercial mainframe account.
2. Install and maintain Mainframe z/OS and related ISV’s.
3. Perform problem determination and resolution.
4. Participate in Disaster Recovery tests.
5. Participate in On-call rotation.
6. Install, customize, test, and implement ISV software.
7. Demonstrate good skills and knowledge of user exits and system modifications.

Requirements:

1. Excellent verbal and communication skills.
2. Willingness to work weekends and outside of normal business hours.
3. Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic, and stressful environment.

Must Haves:

1. SMP/E and system utilities
2. ACF2
3. IO Gen
4. TSO, ISPF
5. z/OS install and support
6. z/OS (reworking and applying user mods, testing software)
7. HCD
8. Understanding of problem & change management (eESM experience is an asset)
9. Install and support program products.
10. Experience with installing simple to complex products (tape management, job scheduling)
11. Advanced skills in JES2 and JES3
12. Support for 120 types of ISVs and 130 Lpars.
13. Understanding of concepts of sysplex
14. Familiarity with CPU keys (ordering, applying)
15. Experience working with vendors (IBM and others) for product development and inquiries.
