Overall Position Overview
The Loss Prevention (LP) Associate is responsible for day-to-day implementation of all Loss Prevention programs and initiatives within their assigned location. Responsibilities include shortage and safety goals, detection and safe apprehension of shoplifters, recovery of merchandise, auditing, use of LP Technology, and training store personnel on Loss Prevention related topics.
Key Responsibilities
- Implementation and execution of all Loss Prevention initiatives and policies within their assigned location to protect the company’s assets and ensure safety.
- Assist with training of store personnel on Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
- Detect and identify shoplifters and safely apprehend subjects or recover merchandise in accordance with laws and company policy.
- Implement loss reduction initiatives in partnership with store teams and Loss Prevention senior management.
- Utilize Loss Prevention technology equipment including CCTV, Access Control, and exception-based reporting systems.
- Provide training to store team members on the store RFID Inventory system.
- Support assigned locations for financial inventory and RFID based cycle counts.
- Regularly communicate with LP team members and support cross-communication between departments.
- Other duties as required.
Desired Skills and Experiences
- Minimum of 5+ years of related experience in Loss Prevention or Asset Protection.
- Full understanding of Canadian laws regarding apprehensions and safety.
- Experience in Internal Investigation and managing external apprehension programs.
- Proven ability to interface with law enforcement and legal professionals.
- Experience with Loss Prevention technology and methods.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and effective time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and autonomously.
- Knowledge of MS Office and G-suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to stand/walk for entire shift and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Regular travel within assigned locations is required.
