Senior Logistics Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Senior Logistics Coordinator in Dorval to assist with transport coordination to ensure the timely and hassle-free import and export of goods by land, sea, and air to and from the company, its suppliers, and its customers mainly in North and South America but globally when appropriate as well.

Responsibilities

  1. Organize, check, prioritize, and route shipments by land, sea, and air.
  2. Track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
  3. Inspect shipments, labels, etc. to ensure everything is completed correctly from preparation to receipt.
  4. Negotiate and audit pricing, contracts, and terms beneficial to the company.
  5. Manage logistics and freight documents, reports, and price lists for efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Manage and optimize logistics related processes/procedures.
  7. Process customs paperwork.
  8. Process HAZMAT paperwork.
  9. Process FedEx parcel freight paperwork.
  10. Process claims for goods damaged during transit.
  11. Assist with loading/unloading trucks including operation of an overhead bridge crane.
  12. Other tasks as appropriate.

Qualifications

  1. 5+ years logistics related experience.
  2. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG, HAZMAT) certification.
  3. Certification in Transport and Logistics.
  4. Knowledge of Air, Ocean and Freight.
  5. Experience dealing with customs and cross border HS Codes.
  6. Bachelor’s degree in logistic field or equivalent commercial experience.

Required Skills

  1. Familiarity with vendor management.
  2. Knowledge of warehousing, shipping, and handling legislation requirements.
  3. Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures.
  4. Good understanding of budgeting and reporting.
  5. Excel expertise to facilitate regular reporting.
  6. Good reasoning skills and sound judgement.
  7. Strong leadership and communication capabilities to drive solutions and positively impact culture.
  8. Solid understanding of current logistics procedures and able accurately to interpret industry trends.
  9. Excellent written/verbal communication skills (English) Functional French.
  10. Well organized, able to multitask and adapt to a highly dynamic environment.
