YOUR ROLE

Call it Spring is a global fashion brand of footwear and accessories for a Gen-Z market looking for an experienced creative talent to join its in-house product development team.

The senior line builder will be responsible for the seasonal line plan to build a profitable collection aligned with our Go-to-Market strategy. The senior line builder provides trends and sales insights, as well as study the competitive landscape to build on best sellers, create new sales opportunities and balance the assortment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set a product architecture based on trends and sales insights that will strategically bring the product vision to life
  2. Conduct trend research and continuously develop knowledge of current and upcoming fashion trends
  3. Develop relationships and work closely with our sourcing team and suppliers to develop new products, negotiate initial product costs, communicate design intent and follow up regarding sample updates
  4. Attend weekly sales recaps to better inform collection planning and have a basic understanding of the current business.
  5. Balance the assortment with the Product development team to achieve needs and novelty through pattern creation and agent styles
  6. Create color and material specs for each style of respective category
  7. Collaborate with various business units to ensure product needs are covered, financial goals are attainable and product development cost+ sampling ratios are followed.
  8. Help manage the sourcing portfolio via the Sr Director’s leadership
  9. Store visits and Market research on ongoing basis
  10. Collection presentations

DO YOU HAVE THE PROFILE WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

  1. Seven to ten years of relevant work experience in Product Development, Design or buying
  2. Proven track record of category management and product development life cycle
  3. Bachelor’s degree in fashion or Design
  4. Footwear experience is recommended
  5. Experience working with overseas suppliers
  6. Strong negotiation skills and merchant driven
  7. Strong analytical skill and strategic thinking
  8. Ability to communicate clear vision
  9. Highly flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  10. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  11. Managerial experience is an asset
  12. Works well in fast-paced environment with strong multitask skill set
  13. Fashion savvy and enthusiast
  14. Ability to travel outside of Canada
  15. Basic excel knowledge
