We are recruiting for an experienced Senior IT Technician (Tier 2/3) professional to join our IT team. This role will be based in both our corporate Toronto head office.

This is an on-site position.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and solutions-driven Senior IT Technician (Tier 2/3) to provide advanced technical support, troubleshooting, and IT infrastructure management for two corporate head office locations and remote users. This role requires deep technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality IT support. The ideal candidate will possess advanced troubleshooting skills, network administration experience, and the ability to drive IT projects that enhance system performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Infrastructure & System Management: Deploy, configure, maintain, and upgrade IT infrastructure, including servers, networking equipment, workstations, and cloud-based systems.
  • User Management & Security: Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in Azure Active Directory, Office 365, and enterprise applications while enforcing IT security best practices.
  • Networking & Connectivity: Assist with and resolve advanced network troubleshooting, including VPN, Wi-Fi, firewall configurations, VLANs, and cloud networking solutions.
  • IT Asset Management: Oversee IT asset inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, documentation, and lifecycle management of hardware and software resources.
  • Vendor & Service Management: Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware procurement, maintenance, and third-party application support.
  • IT Process Improvements & Automation: Identify opportunities to improve IT processes through automation, scripting, and system enhancements.
  • IT Projects & Deployments: Contribute to IT initiatives such as system migrations, cloud deployments, cybersecurity enhancements, and process optimizations.
  • User Training & Support: Educate employees on IT best practices, security protocols, and new technology implementations.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to IT security policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, maintaining detailed documentation of IT systems and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of progressive IT support experience, with a focus on Tier 2/Tier 3 troubleshooting in a corporate or multi-site environment.
  • Expertise in Windows, Azure, Office 365, and cloud technologies with hands-on experience in system administration and security best practices.
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi, and VPN configuration/troubleshooting).
  • Experience supporting VoIP phone systems, conference room technology, and enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks and ticketing systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize critical tasks, and handle multiple escalations efficiently.
  • Strong documentation skills for IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and project planning.
  • Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft (Azure, M365), Cisco (CCNA), or equivalent are highly desirable.
