Senior IT Project Manager to oversee Product Enhancement and Transformation initiatives for foreign currency exchange, ATMs and POS- -1

Duration: 6 Months

Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid // every Wednesday and Thursday and every third Friday of the month.

Office Location: Toronto- Bay St., 4th

Work Schedule: 8:30-5 Monday to Friday-- 40 hour work week, OT will be expected to start on the assignment.

Job Description: This role will oversee the Dynamic Currency Conversion system that relates to payments with Visa and Mastercard. The system is used for international currency conversions through ATMs internationally. This role will be reviewing how to enhance the product. With the international usage of the system, the role may require the individual to speak other languages to discuss technical issues in laymen's terms.

What project will this contractor be working on? The product made for foreign currency exchange through ATMs needs enhancement and transformation. The product is 6-7 years old at this time. We are ramping up the roadmap for this project. Some pieces need to move to cloud. Transforming existing applications to cloud will be needed.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing.
2. Develop, track and manage project budget, project plans, timelines and scope.
3. Effectively oversee project staff (direct reports, matrixed reports, contractors, and interns), delegating work to appropriate leads.
4. Efficiently communicate to stakeholders to manage expectations and project progress.
5. Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized.
6. Ensure that necessary risk assessments are continually reviewed and monitored and proactively addressed in a timely fashion.
7. Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures.
8. Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs.
9. Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors.
10. Manage medium to large scale projects working collaboratively with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical resources.
11. Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising.
12. Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements.
13. Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses.
14. Successfully plan, execute, control and close projects against defined scope and budget using CIBC procedures and policies.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
2. PMP or PMI certification.
3. Proven project management experience.
4. People management and team building skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities.
6. Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization.
7. Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.
8. Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment.
9. Extensive practical experience and knowledge with techniques for planning, organizing, and monitoring multiple IT projects simultaneously.

Must Have Requirement:

1. POS experience
2. Experience to be part of Payment Product design/build/testing/release experience
3. Good understanding of ISO Payment Spec and VISA/MC (NOT SWIFT payment experience)
4. Experience in transformational projects that include application and infrastructure.
5. 10 years overall experience with MS Project, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel// MS office suite, Project Financial tracking with both the waterfall and agile methodology.
6. Understanding of Azure and cloud.
