Our client, a HIGH-GROWTH NATIONAL RETAIL ORGANISATION, is seeking the Best IT DIRECTOR (Bilingual) to join their executive team and drive INNOVATION, EFFICIENCY, & DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION across their IT infrastructure.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Information Technology is responsible for managing and evolving the company's IT systems. They ensure the performance, security, and optimization of IT infrastructures to support business operations, including point-of-sale (POS) systems, the ERP system, the WHMS, and data analytics tools (Power BI).

This role also involves overseeing an internal IT team and collaborating with external vendors to provide effective user support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure the evolution and performance of IT systems, including POS, ERP, WHMS, and analytical tools such as Power BI and others.
  • Plan and manage IT budgets, including investments and operational costs.
  • Manage and optimize IT infrastructure (servers, networks, cybersecurity, cloud solutions).
  • Explore opportunities to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) to automate processes, improve inventory management, personalize the customer experience, and optimize business operations.
  • Propose and integrate innovative digital solutions to enhance the customer experience, both in-store and online.
  • Establish performance indicators and dashboards to monitor IT operations.
  • Provide effective IT support for all employees at the head office and retail locations.
  • Manage incidents and ensure the prompt resolution of IT issues.
  • Define and enforce best practices in IT management, including cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the IT team, consisting of coordinators, analysts, and programmers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in Computer Science.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in IT management, including experience in retail.
  • Experience in a retail organization and being bilingual is a definitive asset.
  • Proficiency in POS systems, ERP (preferably Business Central / NAV), WHMS, and analytical tools such as Power BI.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VB, VBA, VBScript, SQL, AL, HTML, CSS (an asset).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices in IT infrastructure.
  • Being bilingual (English / French) is considered an asset.
