WHAT'S THE JOB?

ASPECT Structural Engineers is in search of a Senior HR Manager to join the team on a 14-month contract. This role reports to the HR Director and is based in Vancouver, BC.

As ASPECT’S Senior HR Manager, you will play a strategic role in driving HR processes that support the business’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate for this role takes a highly collaborative and consultative approach to leading HR programs and initiatives and enjoys a particular focus on talent management, total rewards, career development, and engagement.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  1. Ensuring the smooth running of the total HR function, driving initiatives that deliver on the HR strategy as well as coaching and developing a small HR team.
  2. Coaching and advising all levels of the organization from first-time people managers to senior leaders on topics related to their teams including employee relations, leaves of absence, performance, policy interpretation, and team dynamics.
  3. Driving talent management programs including career development conversations, performance management, goal setting, talent reviews, and succession planning.
  4. Rallying and supporting a culture of regular feedback and open communication through different initiatives and tactics.
  5. Advising on complex employee relations cases and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  6. Overseeing talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies that ensure the company attracts, retains, and nurtures top talent.
  7. Support talent development through career development plans, and associated training and mentoring including coordinating training programs and leadership development initiatives to address skills gaps and career growth.
  8. Lead annual salary review and performance review processes, including training, setting clear expectations, coaching throughout, and managing internal desired timelines.
  9. Lead compensation review processes that follow our compensation philosophy, and support salary conversations and discussions to ensure equity and transparency.
  10. Act as a change agent by supporting organizational change initiatives and guiding leaders through the change process, providing advice on communication, team morale, and the impact on employee engagement.
  11. Collect and analyze HR data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
  12. Measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives and report on the impact of HR activities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  1. 8+ years of experience spanning HR Generalist, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, Training, and HR Business Partnering scopes.
  2. Previous experience in learning and development-focused roles would be beneficial.
  3. Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations in BC, and Ontario and ideally some experience with the US.
  4. A coaching and highly collaborative approach.
  5. Strong program and project management skills and experience.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business.
  7. Flexible with strong problem-solving skills.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

Base Salary CAD $90,000 – $110,000 (will be commensurate with skillset and experience). Extended health benefits. Professional fees coverage. Fitness and education allowances. Flex hours. Generous paid time off.

This position is office-based and subject to a Hybrid Work Policy (up to 2 days of remote work per week).
