Senior Healthcare Project Manager [BHJOB13022_13497]

On behalf of our healthcare client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Senior Healthcare Project Manager for a 12 month contract with possibility of extensions.

Summary of the Role:

The successful candidate will oversee multiple projects within the Interoperability Program, including Longitudinal Record Access, Health Toolkit, and Patient Summary. This role focuses on leading the development of SMART on FHIR applications and ensuring seamless integration with existing EMR systems to enhance data accessibility and improve patient outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Strategy: Develop project roadmaps, timelines, and risk mitigation strategies aligned with healthcare technology standards.
2. Team Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams including developers, UI/UX designers, and data architects, ensuring Agile practices are followed.
3. Product Development: Guide the development and integration of SMART on FHIR applications in compliance with provincial standards.
4. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clinical leaders, IT teams, and external vendors; present updates to leadership.
5. Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure solutions meet BC’s healthcare privacy regulations and undergo comprehensive UAT.

Core Requirements:

1. Minimum 7 years of experience managing healthcare technology projects.
2. Proven expertise in SMART on FHIR applications and FHIR standards.
3. Familiarity with EMR systems and integration best practices.
4. Experience working within British Columbia Health Authorities.
5. Certifications such as PMP, SAFe POPM, or IIBA CPOA are preferred.

Desired Skills & Experience:

1. Master’s degree or equivalent in clinical informatics, health information science, or related field.
2. Background in clinical workflows or healthcare environments.
3. Experience with AI technologies, including NLP.
4. Knowledge of BC privacy laws, PIPEDA, and health data regulations.

Terms:

This is a contract role requiring 37.5-40 hours per week, subject to project demands and funding. The consultant will work remotely and must provide their own equipment. Work must align with Pacific Time. Occasional travel may be required, with costs reimbursed only with prior written approval. The position mandates residency in Canada and compliance with provincial data privacy standards.

Pre-employment conditions: Candidates must disclose if they have worked full-time at a BC health authority in the last six months. This role may require a criminal record check.
