Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a Senior Consultant to join our Federal Sector Services department.
Reporting to the Professional Services Delivery Manager of Federal Sector Services, the person in this role will focus on enterprise business solution projects and will leverage their knowledge and experience bridging the gap of understanding between the business needs and the technology. The Senior Consultant needs to be both business aware and have a very good understanding of technology.
This role will be based in Ottawa and will be hybrid. It requires the ability to obtain a Canadian Federal Government Secret security clearance.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Consultant at Esri Canada:
- Work in a collaborative team analyzing customer issues and developing solutions.
- Providing expertise in the user needs analysis, estimation, design, development, and implementation of Enterprise GIS solutions.
- Chart existing business processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models.
- Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
- Prototype new procedures for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in production systems across the organization.
- Working with other consultants in the design and delivery of client solutions from conception to completion.
- Scope projects and assist the Project Manager in developing complete project SOW and project plans for all assigned projects.
- Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other pre/post-implementation support.
- Model client requirements and define functional specifications.
- Actively participate in the preparation of proposals (eg RFPs, RFIs and RFQs).
What you bring to the team:
- 7+ years experience as a Business Analyst or Application Specialist.
- 5+ years experience with Esri products.
- Ability to motivate, coordinate and lead a group of multidisciplinary team effectively.
- Experience in facilitating discussions and leading workshops.
- Ability to negotiate and build consensus.
- Demonstrated business acumen to establish and maintain an effective consulting relationship with corporate customers, with a strong customer service orientation.
- A sound knowledge of analysis & design techniques and system implementation methodologies.
- Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
- Experience implementing Enterprise GIS solutions based on Esri technology.
- Experience with web-based applications.
- Demonstrated ability to complete technical studies and to develop and present recommendations and reports.
- Experience in managing client relationships and ability to communicate with executive levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated awareness of emerging IT trends and directions.
- College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, MBA, computer science, civil engineering, GIS and related disciplines.
Additional requirements for this position:
- Ability to obtain a Canadian Federal Government Secret security clearance.
- Strong communication/writing and interpersonal skills.
- Must work in the Ottawa/Gatineau area.
- Synthesis and analysis skills; ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions.
Bonus points for this position:
- Core: Esri Technical Certifications.
- ArcGIS Online Administration – Associate.
- Working knowledge of UML, data modeling, process modeling, workflows.
- Be prepared to obtain the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) exam monitored by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).
