Position Title: Senior Front End Developer
Reports To: Technology Manager, Corporate Services, Enterprise Platforms
Department: Enterprise Platforms Information Technology
Term: Temporary Full-Time, Twelve (12) Month Contract
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity: The Senior Front End Developer role will be responsible to develop and implement technologies that support business priorities and capability for internal and external clients. They will also provide technical and practice leadership and continuously evolve the capabilities and technologies that enable continuous delivery of shared systems. This role will partner with a cross-functional team to develop, test, launch, and refine solutions to optimize the organization's service experience, while helping maintain and enhance shared technology solutions and architecture.
What you will be doing:
- Able to translate a wireframe for new page design into a design that meets all technical requirements.
- Experience with content editing and publishing.
- Understanding of WEB accessibility and have the skills to identify and suggest corrections.
- Responsible for monitoring website performance and usability while delivering on objectives established by business partners.
- Dedicated experience working with CMS platforms such as Kentico.
- Strong experience in creating user-friendly web pages while navigating business asks.
- Strong experience & understanding in SEO and SCO.
- In touch with the latest website functionality and trends within the industry.
- Coding experience in React, .NET, C#, SQL.
- Demonstrated knowledge of web/mobile design and object-oriented programming practices.
- Support the implementation of corporate policies, standards, and procedures that provide effective architecture, governance, and management.
- Provide technical leadership for more junior team members, oversee solutions to ensure site usability.
- Involve others in planning and executing, gaining their buy-in.
- May be required to complete work outside of normal business hours to meet project deadlines and support weekend implementations, and may be required to participate in rotating on-call shifts.
What you will bring:
- Minimum 6 years' experience in IT; 3+ years in a Senior Technology role with multi-domain experience.
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in computer science, computer systems engineering, or software engineering.
- Hands-on working knowledge of Kentico CMS, React, .NET, C#, PWAs, APIs, Azure DevOps/Cloud, SQL, Design Library Systems, experience with scrum delivery, Testing Automation, and Automating Pipeline.
