About the Opportunity
LDCU Financial Management is looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Financial Planner to join our team. The Senior Financial Planner is responsible for:
- Assisting clients with establishing short and long-term goals and building a detailed financial plan to achieve those goals
- Providing an on-going structure to review and update financial goals and action plans with clients
- Actively growing the portfolio through networking and relationship building
- Using professional knowledge and experience to match products and services offered by LDCU Financial Management to meet clients’ needs
- Cultivating and maintaining the high level of care and trust necessary to ensure client satisfaction and retention
- Providing training and education to junior members of LDCU Financial Management, other areas of the organization, and the community
- Referring clients to other areas of business within Ladysmith & District Credit Union and LCU Insurance
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- 5 - 8 years of experience providing investment advice and financial planning services
- A passion for financial planning and helping clients to achieve their financial goals
- A License to sell Mutual Funds (MFDA/AMF) and have completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation or enrollment with a confirmed completion date is preferred
- Life Insurance designation/license
- Excellent knowledge of term and investment products, mutual funds, self-directed RSP and RIF plans as well as a good understanding of financial planning concepts
- A proficient understanding of insurance products, including segregated funds, life, and income replacement insurance products with the ability to complete a Financial Security Needs Analysis with clients
- The ability to understand and interpret financial/investment issues related to financial planning, wealth management, and tax planning as well as financial statements and tax returns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities as well as the ability to deal effectively with client issues and complaints while maintaining a professional demeanor
Salary Range
$90,000-$120,000 per year
