Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance

Location: Vaughan, ON

Base Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 per year

Our client, a well-established real estate investment and asset management firm, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join its corporate finance team. Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller, this role will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for corporate entities while also providing backup support to the broader accounting team as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain exposure to various aspects of the business while working alongside a team that values process improvement, collaboration, and excellence in their respective specialties.

The ideal candidate will be actively pursuing their CPA designation and bring hands-on experience with month-end closing procedures. They will also be highly motivated to grow, naturally inquisitive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. With strong organizational skills, they can effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate with various stakeholders. A detail-oriented and process-driven mindset, combined with a solid accounting foundation, will be key to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting for corporate entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform month-end closing procedures, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and manage inter-company billings.
  • Prepare and file HST returns in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and audit-related requests.
  • Handle payroll remittances in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Support various administrative finance tasks, including maintaining records, meeting deadlines, and property updates.

Job Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing CPA certification).
  • 4-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or the real estate/asset management industry.
  • Strong technical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency and the ability to adapt to new financial systems.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles (IFRS) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Experience with Yardi or other real estate-focused ERP systems is an asset.

Compensation:

The role offers a competitive base salary in the range of $90,000 - $100,000 per year (depending on experience). Additionally, this role offers a bonus, vacation + flex days, full health benefits as of day 1, and financial support for ongoing education support membership dues!
