Senior Enterprise Architect

Position Description:

The Enterprise Architect is a senior-level consulting and technical leadership role responsible for shaping technology strategies and architectures for credit union clients. This role will support both business development and delivery, providing strategic advisory on core banking modernization, digital banking transformation, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The Enterprise Architect will act as a technical mentor, providing guidance on complex solutions while ensuring alignment with business goals.

This position will be located in Halifax, NS, Fredericton, NB or St. John's Newfoundland (new office coming soon!).

Your future duties and responsibilities:

1. Architecture Strategy & Advisory: Develop technology roadmaps and architecture frameworks for credit union clients, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
2. Business Development Support: Partner with the executive team, Account Directors, and broader sales teams to articulate technical solutions, translate into compelling client outcomes and contribute to proposals and client presentations.
3. Solution Design & Governance: Lead high-level solution architecture for core banking, digital banking, integration, cybersecurity, and cloud transformations.
4. Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring internal teams and clients on best practices in enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, and digital transformation.
5. Technology Evaluation & Innovation: Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to provide strategic recommendations to clients.
6. Regulatory & Security Compliance: Ensure technology strategies adhere to financial industry regulations, data protection laws, and cybersecurity best practices.
7. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with credit union executives, IT teams, and internal CGI delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
8. Enterprise Integration & Scalability: Lead discussions on integrating digital banking solutions with existing core banking systems and third-party applications.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

1. 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technology consulting, preferably within the financial services sector.
2. Strong knowledge of core banking platforms, digital banking solutions, integration, cybersecurity frameworks, and cloud technologies.
3. Expertise in IT strategy, application modernization, microservices, API management, and data architecture.
4. Strong understanding of emerging technology in areas of predictive analytics, artificial intelligence, and automation.
5. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly recommendations.
6. Experience working in a consulting environment with a strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
7. Strong financial literacy, understanding how technology investments impact business performance and profitability.
8. Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and enterprise security frameworks.
9. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
10. Relevant certifications such as TOGAF, AWS/Azure Architect, or CISSP are highly desirable.
