As a Senior Electrical Engineer at WalterFedy, you will be responsible for planning and conducting assignments with a high level of specialization and autonomy. This role involves solving complex engineering problems, modifying established guidelines, and applying mature engineering knowledge to improve design standards, reduce costs, and enhance work quality. You will collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external agencies to ensure project success.

This role is open to those desiring to work out of our Ontario offices in Hamilton, Kitchener, or Toronto.

What You Will Do

• Plan and conduct complex engineering assignments with minimal supervision, modifying established guidelines and devising new approaches to meet project requirements.
• Investigate and solve unusual design and field engineering problems by applying existing criteria in innovative ways and developing guidelines for other team members.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external agencies, discussing design problems and project control criteria.
• Manage mid-sized to large projects, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and performance objectives, and preparing progress reports and cost estimates.
• Communicate effectively with clients to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions, and establish client contacts to seek or provide technical information.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to company values of quality, client focus, teamwork, sustainability, and community, integrating these principles into daily work practices.
• Assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or senior team members to support the overall success of the team and company objectives.

What You Bring to the Table

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and best practices.
• Proven ability to solve complex engineering problems using innovative approaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients, colleagues, and external agencies.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
• Project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage mid-sized to large projects.
