The Senior Director of Strategic Marketing is responsible for leading a team of product managers and for developing and executing the overall general medicine marketing strategy. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the Marketing Extended Leadership team, relevant Business & Technical teams and serve as a strategic commercial partner to the business unit and sales teams as well as the scientific, clinical, and R&D teams. This position requires a seasoned marketing professional and people leader with a deep understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics, as well as experience leading and managing commercial teams. Experience in healthcare and diagnostics is a strong plus for this role. The Senior Director of Strategic Marketing reports to the Head of General Medicine, Women’s Health & Genetics marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing plans that achieve business objectives across multiple channels and audiences

  • Oversee the development of creative assets, messaging, and positioning in alignment with brand guidelines, strategy, and business objectives

  • Budgetary stewardship for all marketing initiatives and work with Customer Marketing Director Finance and Market Insights team to track ROI and conversion rates or other business KPIs to prioritize & optimize spend

  • Analyze customer data to develop insights that inform marketing strategies and tactics

  • Work closely with market research to understand customer beliefs, needs, preferences, and trends

  • Lead team to develop strategic go-to-market plans for screening and diagnostic tests and solutions

  • Work with sales leadership to create demand generation programs that drive pipeline growth

  • Deliver high-quality results on time and within budget, leading and inspiring your team to do so also

  • Lead a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and career development

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices, sharing knowledge with the team and applying learnings to improve performance

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, representing General Medicine and Marketing across the enterprise

  • Develop marketing strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives, including creating product or service offerings that meet assigned customer needs

  • Develop and implementing long-term strategies for growing brand awareness and increasing market share

  • Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure that products are delivered on time and according to specifications

  • Oversee all stages of the product development process from concept to production, by leading product managers and working cross functionally with other departments

  • Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure marketing initiatives are aligned with overall business and scientific strategy.

  • Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends to inform marketing strategy and product development.

  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring the efficient and effective use of resources.

  • Oversee the creation of all marketing materials, including advertising, sales collateral, and digital content for General Medicine

  • Work with customer marketing/marcomm leads to provide strategic input for execution of marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including social media, email, and traditional advertising.

  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, using data to inform decision-making and adjust as needed. Partner with business senior leaders and their teams to drive impact against company mission to improve health, improve lives

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience developing and executing marketing strategy

  • 3-5 years in leadership roles with direct reports

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform marketing decisions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including to senior executives

  • Demonstrated leadership, including influencing without authority

  • Operates with a growth mindset and navigates ambiguity with curiosity and a solution-oriented approach

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, business administration, life sciences, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Professional experience in diagnostics and/or experience working in the healthcare industry

  • Prior market research, marketing communications, marketing operations or agency experience

  • Experience with demand generation or sales

  • Proven project management experience

  • Budget development and oversight experience

Pay Range: $200,000 - $225,000 annually + annual bonus and equity eligibility
