Cardinal Health Canada, with over 1,400 employees nationwide, is an essential link in the Canadian healthcare supply chain, providing over 70,000 products to healthcare facilities and medical professionals across the country.
The Senior Director, Marketing, leads all product marketing, product management, digital marketing and supplier relationship activities in Canada. This role is highly collaborative in nature requiring the incumbent to build strong relationships and operate with alignment across sales, supply chain, regulatory affairs, and other functions at the regional and global levels.
The role is responsible for overseeing all activities associated with Cardinal Health Canada’s national and regional marketing strategies for both Cardinal Health’s branded products and our distributed products, as well as our service offerings. The role functions as the key executive liaison between Cardinal Health Canada and our strategic supplier partners. The incumbent will also build strong partnerships at the enterprise level and engage with Cardinal Health executives on portfolio strategy, new product development and global Marketing initiatives to ensure strong alignment across the broader organization. Through cross-functional collaboration, the Senior Director Marketing will synthesize and develop market insights and strategies and implement business plans in close alignment with our sales leaders to increase long-term profitability across our channels and regions.
Reporting to the President, this role will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership team in Canada (CLT).
Your contributions to the organization will be:
Lead, coach, and develop marketing leaders and their teams to support the business with marketing insights, collateral, and a collaborative yearly business planning process.
Set vision and strategy for overall team to work as a cohesive unit to support cross-functional goals and optimize the company’s overall performance.
Utilize broad and deep market, competitor, and industry knowledge to develop innovative new business practices and programs according to unique provincial healthcare systems and authorities.
Ensure development of strategic marketing plans and value propositions for each region, market segment (acute vs non-acute), products and services (ValueLink and pandemic) to determine the optimal go-to-market strategies to drive sales.
Develop and assess new and existing supplier relationships and opportunities.
Negotiate with suppliers, approve finalization or renewal of distribution agreements, and ensure supplier profitability through performance metrics and quarterly business reviews.
Own and continuously improve product and services & solutions growth programs, including promotions, launches and marketing collateral.
Assess new products and services - Identify product and or market gaps, develop business case, champion implementation of Cardinal product launches in alignment with global team.
Develop and execute comprehensive regional brand strategies and campaigns to enhance awareness across all channels for Cardinal Health brand, PreSource and national brand.
Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including media, content strategy and social media to drive brand growth, responsible for ecommerce site.

You have a Bachelor or MBA degree of Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in marketing in the healthcare industry, with a proven track record of successfully leading large teams.
Ability to provide vision and long-term strategic direction while fostering a culture of empowerment, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Have deep industry and market knowledge at the provincial and national levels.
Possess strong financial and business acumen with experience managing full P&L for the function.
Exhibit impressive negotiation, persuasion and consensus building skills that have long term effects on the organization, while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Have digital marketing competency with experience in overseeing ecommerce, various digital marketing tools and tracking ROI.
Desire to play a strategic role within a senior leadership team.
Use customer and supplier knowledge along with organizational challenges and priorities in the decision making and execution of activities, while engaging with cross-functional senior leadership.
Travel at approximately 10%.
