The Work

The Senior Director, Finance Transformation(SD) will be accountable for delivery, support, and strategic transformation for the Finance function of Equitable Bank(EQB or the Bank) and its subsidiaries. The SD is part of the senior management team of the Finance group that will enable Equitable Bank’s Challenger Bank aspiration, innovate and modernize finance capabilities, and integrate new companies.
This is a time of significant digital transformation & modernization, and this role is at the leading edge of driving an advanced target state vision and roadmap to rapidly advance finance capabilities. Creating and executing against a well-thought out and pragmatic strategy that considers people, process, and technology to drive changes will be critical. The SD will drive the continuous improvement journey for Finance, supported by their team. The SD will also oversee vendor sourcing, contracts, performance, and ongoing costs related to finance transformation efforts with support from Enterprise teams to ensure risk and value are appropriately managed.
Given significant collaboration, the SD role is expected to be primarily in our offices and be a present leader, with some flexibility for hybrid work when needed.

The Core Responsibilities!

  • Understand EQB’s comprehensive landscape of finance processes and work with other Finance leaders to target opportunities for continuous improvement across technology, controls, automation. Engage and steer in EQB’s Enterprise Data program to ensure finance expertise is leveraged and finance processes are modernized alongside the Finance transformation roadmap.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of a multi-year Finance transformation roadmap for the portfolio aligned with business line strategies and enterprise objectives, ensuring team members align their deliverables to this roadmap.
  • Get big transformations and Finance projects over the finish line and solve problems! Lead and govern the Transformation team to create, plan, and estimate comprehensive end-to-end detailed solutions with overall accountability for the design and delivery of large-scale, complex, or enterprise projects.
  • Effectively transition end-to-end solutions and finance modernization initiatives to end users, ensuring a clear change management approach, effective training programs, and seamless handoffs.
  • Research and provide expertise on emerging industry trends on finance and digital technologies, collaborating with direct reports and other Finance leaders to assess and adopt innovations that enhance operational efficiency.

Let's Talk About You!

  • Minimum of 12+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or consulting roles, such as Director or Senior Manager, with proven success in leading teams of 8-12 internal and external resources—preferably within financial services or other regulated industries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial processes and operations, with familiarity in areas such as taxation, financial projects, and productivity optimization.
  • Knowledge and experience with finance platforms and driving technology and process change in organizations. Familiarity with ‘office of the CFO’ finance systems and technology (e.g., general ledger, financial planning & analysis, consolidations, reconciliations, reporting, financial operations)
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and build consensus among diverse teams, maintain integrity, and establish positive relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success in driving organizational and cultural transformation initiatives, fostering high engagement levels, and supporting effective employee development and retention.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to create compelling presentations and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Completion of a recognized professional designation: CPA, CA; CPA, CGA; or CPA, CMA; or a relevant postgraduate degree such as an MBA.
