Start Date: September 30, 2024

Duration: 1 year (Extension probable for multi-year program)

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days in office/1 day work from home) Must be based in Calgary.

Job Description

Our Calgary based Oil & Gas client has a requirement for a Senior Digital & IT Program Manager O&G DownStream who will play a key and critical role within the Downstream Digital Enablement Program (DEP), a multi-year initiative aimed at developing, enhancing, and maturing digital capabilities across the client's Downstream Manufacturing assets.

Overall, Job Summary
This role will serve as a primary liaison between D & IT and the DEP team, ensuring the alignment of strategic digital initiatives with broader organizational goals. The Senior D & IT Program Manager will provide leadership in coordinating D & IT dependencies and deliverables, driving collaboration between D & IT and business units, and ensuring program milestones are met on time and within scope. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented approach, with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions that advance the digital transformation agenda.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years in IT, with substantial experience in leadership roles managing large-scale digital transformation programs, including direct experience with technology implementations in the downstream energy sector.
  • Project Management Expertise: Proven track record of leading multi-year, high-budget programs from inception through to successful completion. Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is highly desirable.
  • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of digital technologies, enterprise systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Previous experience with ERP systems, cloud technologies, and data governance initiatives is preferred.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Certification: PMP certification is an asset. Additional certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Lead collaboration efforts between D & IT and senior business leaders within DEP.
  • Foster strong relationships across the organization to ensure seamless execution of digital initiatives.
  • Strategic Roadmap Development: Shape and refine the program roadmap by aligning it with the broader Company D & IT technical strategies.
  • D & IT Coordination: Act as the single point of accountability for DEP’s D & IT-related activities.
  • Business-Technical Alignment: Understand the business objectives of DEP and translate these into clear, actionable work packages for D & IT teams.
  • Innovation Partnership: Develop and sustain a fast-paced R&D and innovation collaboration between DEP and D & IT.
  • Demand Prioritization: Balance the competing needs of DEP and other D & IT projects, ensuring the effective allocation of resources while maintaining alignment with business priorities.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Monitor program KPIs and provide regular updates to leadership.

Must have Work Authorization for Canada.
