We’re looking for a talented, driven and creative Senior DevOps Engineer

Based in Montreal, you are the ideal candidate if you have a strong drive, ability to work in a team and you are a believer of the "Cattle not Pets" cloud paradigm.

In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for the tools and processes required to deliver software to customers. You will be working closely with the operations team to ensure that they have the proper tools to deploy our solutions. In this context, your primary focus will be to automate the process to make deployments as fast, reliable, and predictable as possible.

And what is not possible today, might be possible tomorrow. That’s why you will stay up to date with new technologies, trends, and tools, to provide pragmatic recommendations to improve our technological ecosystem.

You will collaborate within a team / scrum environment focused on the continuous improvement of their methodologies, tools, practices, and teamwork. Finally, you will have the pleasure to meet extremely talented and professional colleagues who know the importance of having fun while being at work.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and creating tooling for orchestrating each step of the CI/CD process.
  • Developing and improving the build and packaging process of various components.
  • Maintaining monitoring and analysis infrastructure to provide a reliable/resilient platform.
  • Exploring new infrastructure and development tools and technologies.
  • Being an agent of change and cohesion amongst developers, QA and other sys admins by promoting DevOps practices.
  • Identifying anything done manually, then automating it.

Qualifications

  • Has knowledge and experience with Helm and GitOps practices/tools.
  • Understands cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), how to use their management console, and how to integrate with them using their CLI.
  • Has hands on experience with Automation Tools and Infrastructure as Code (such as TerraForm).
  • Knows scripting in bash and/or python.
  • Is proficient in container design and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Worked with continuous Integration and deployment (CICD) methodologies and tools (Gitlab-CI, Artifactory).
  • Has a college or University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Believes in DevOps. If you know, you know.
  • Hates it when someone gets called at 3am.

What else could give you an edge when applying?

  • Knowledge of modern authentication/authorization (OAuth2, OIDC).
  • Understanding of service meshes, particularly Istio.
  • Experience in software development in Java.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum or XP.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners and colleagues beyond the province ofQuebec.
