Software. Our team is truly committed to best practices software development. Working with us, you will have the opportunity to use the latest software ecosystem (including open-source software) and to contribute upstream to them Community. Ours is awesome. You will interact with developers co-located in an Agile environment, work in an open space and be part of a global open source community.

DevOps. We are committed to our practices and tools - CI/CD, containers, micro-services.

Networking. You will shape and develop our core platform designed to automate our SDN (Software-Defined-Networking) and NFV (Network Function Virtualization) self-driving network in real-time.

Technology. You will deal with a variety of cutting edge Software and Networking technologies that will shape how Bell will transform how networks are built and operated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and help improve software engineering practices across multiple software development teams. Embody and advocate a culture of quality code development.
  • Sharpen your software development skills with the latest open source technologies, with access to vast resources and without limitations.
  • Drive SDN and NFV innovation within Bell and in the industry.
  • Openly expose problems and turn them into learning and team bonding experiences.
  • Put the interest of the team first.

Critical Qualifications

  • A candidate with 8-10 years of software full stack development expertise; but if you think you can step up to the challenge you should apply!
  • Familiarity with the best software development practices (CI/CD, code review, testing).
  • Hands-on DevOps experience (Gerrit, Jenkins, Jira).
  • Develop new software and improve the performance of existing software.
  • Solid expertise in software debugging and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with GO and Python.
  • Hands-on experience with JSON schema and Rest/RestConf API development.
  • Experience with grpc, gnmi, Netconf, SNMP, and WebSocket.
  • Knowledge of Data model, Yang, YAML, MongoDB, MariaDB, HA proxy, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
  • Enthusiastic with a strong aptitude for innovation.
  • A team player who can define, establish and communicate their long-term vision, adaptable to uncertain and changing needs.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (a good sense of humour is a bonus!).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in SDN ecosystem development and vendor management.
  • Familiarity with L2/L3 networking stack and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud (specifically GCP: Google Cloud Platform).
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.

Additional Information:

For work arrangements that are ‘Hybrid’, successful candidates must be based in Canada and report to a set Bell office for a minimum of 3 days a week. Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, Bell offers flexibility in work hours based on business needs.
