Drive the development and maintenance of data-driven solutions and services in support of Scotiabank Global Banking & Markets (GBM). Directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of Reusable Authoritative Datasets (RADs) for Global Banking and Markets (GBM) trades and transactions data domain, the support and development of the domain’s data services, and the management of data quality and availability of data.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

1. Responsible for the data quality and controls execution for Global Capital Markets trades and transactions data.
2. Facilitate GBM trades and transactions data sourcing needs for internal clients such as GBM, Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, and other corporate functions. Document definitions and contextual understanding, and act as a subject matter expert to clients. Provide advice and guidance on data mapping and transformation to meet business requirements.
3. Support data initiatives as assigned.
4. Understand and support leading practices related to data management. Have experience with capital markets products and business processes.
5. Perform root cause analysis and remediation for data quality issues and incidents.
6. Contribute to the governance of trade and transactions domain. Assist in the development of the trade and transactions data domain, and business adoption of data governance activities.
7. Contribute to the management of reference data related to the assigned products.
8. Keep abreast with changes in data pipeline, business process, and technology process related to the assigned products. Contribute to keeping the definitions and metadata up to date.
9. Contribute to the overall data management practice and capabilities relating to data quality, data provisioning, metadata, lineage, reference data, issue management, and change management.
10. Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and performance.
11. Contribute to ensure data accuracy, integrity, efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to trade data management, maintaining documentation, and implementing necessary controls.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

1. Experience with capital markets and corporate banking products and end-to-end processes.
2. Understanding of key components of modern data platforms including: data controls, data acquisition and ingestion, data processing, data enrichment, data models, data distribution.
3. Experience with project delivery, business analysis, and user acceptance testing.
4. Strong communication skills. Ability to tailor communication approach for different audiences in senior leadership, front office, mid/back office, and technology.
5. Google Cloud Platform, Knowledge Graph, Ontology, Data Fabric, and Data Mesh experience will be beneficial.
6. Graduate Degree in IT or Business-related discipline preferred.
7. 2+ years of experience working with capital markets and/or corporate banking products and processes is preferred.
8. 2+ years of experience in Financial Services.
9. Some experience in SQL and Python is preferred.
10. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau).
11. Knowledge of global financial regulatory environment is preferred.
