About the role:
Reporting to the Director, Data and Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst will join a team of high performing and collaborative professionals, working closely together on the development and execution of Brookfield Renewable’s growth strategies in North America.
A Senior Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data and providing insights to support the near and long-term strategy for the Trading and Risk groups. They work closely with traders, analysts, and VPs to identify and execute technology-focused business transformation and process improvement initiatives. They use advanced statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques to solve high-priority business problems and draw data-driven insights. They will also support ongoing projects related to ML-based wholesale price forecasting models, hydropower optimization tools, and an internally managed risk management reporting database.
Additional responsibilities for a Senior Data Analyst include designing and configuring reporting and analysis using Business Intelligence and Visual Analytics platforms. They also design and implement data analysis systems and processes to support business decision-making, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements, communicating complex data analysis and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, staying up-to-date with the latest data analysis tools and techniques, and continuously improving the data analysis capabilities of the organization, and ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all data sources. As part of their collaboration with the business and cross-functional teams, the Senior Data Analyst will also be responsible for identifying and configuring new data pipelines to improve data collection and analysis.
